Watkins Glen, mid 90's - I'm in the hospitality tent
for Square D and Kenny Wallace is being asked
questions by the crowd. A lady asks him "what's
the scariest moment you've had in racing" without
any hesitation he say's " going into a corner at
190mph with Jimmy Spencer underneath me. They don't
call him Mr. Excitement for nothing"

Winning the second Tioga Event in July of 2005. The
car was quick and handling very well with the new
tires. Rich got cut-off going for the lead on lap 2 of
the feature. I'm standing up on the pit box watching
as the car goes careening into the infield and
sideways over the access road. I'm thinking
"there goes a winning race car in a heap".
The good news was that the car wasn't hurt, the bad
news was he went to the rear in 12th or 13th place.
The green came out and Rich began his march to the
front. By lap 12 he made a pass for the lead by
driving in deep in turn 3, faking to the outside and
then turning the car down low to make what was the
winning pass off of turn 4. That was one hell of a
show.
